SLIIT Semester Performance Based Scholarships (From First Year First Semester Onwards)

SLIIT offers full and partial scholarships to undergraduate students based on their academic performance. These scholarships are awarded each semester and aim to support and encourage students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence. The scholarship is a contribution by SLIIT and is awarded at the discretion of the institute.

Scholarship Award Criteria

The following criteria will be applied in the selection of recipients for semester performance based scholarships at SLIIT:

· Students must achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.70.

· The minimum class size of the relevant degree program or specialization group must be 100 students.

· Eligible students will be ranked according to their semester GPA within their class.

o The top 1% of students will be considered for a full scholarship.

o The next 2% of students will be considered for a partial scholarship.

· In cases where the specialization group has fewer than 100 students, students who have attained an exceptionally high GPA may still be considered for a full or half scholarship, depending on the total number of scholarships awarded across the institute for that semester.

· Students enrolled in partner university degree programs at SLIIT will be eligible for these scholarships only up to the SLIIT Diploma level.

· The maximum scholarship amount for any semester will be equivalent to the semester fee of the corresponding SLIIT program of which the best performance was shown.

These criteria ensure a fair and transparent process that rewards academic excellence.

Notification of Scholarship Eligibility

Eligible students will be notified of their scholarship status through the following process:

· Official E-mail Notification: Each student selected for a scholarship will receive a personalized e-mail from the Registry Officer or the Academic Affairs Division.

· Formal Letter (PDF Attachment): A formal scholarship award letter may be provided as a PDF attachment in the e-mail for official use or personal records.

Scholarship Fee Adjustments and Refund Procedures for Students

· Deducted from the Semester Fee: The scholarship amount will be automatically adjusted against the upcoming semester tuition fees. Students can view the updated semester fee reflecting this deduction in the student registration interface when logging in to register for the upcoming semester.

· For Graduated or Already Paid Students: If students have already paid their semester fees or have graduated, they may request a refund equal to their scholarship amount by contacting the Registry Officer via support.sliit.lk or email the request to studentservices@sliit.lk with a request for a refund.
