SLIIT Orientation program is designed to 

  • Create awareness of academic procedures
  • Improve English knowledge, Mathematical skills and Computing knowledge and skills
  • Assist to transfer you from a school-based environment to a University-based environment 

During the orientation program, the students are also introduced to SLIIT support services such as IT Services, Library, Career Guidance & Counseling,  Sports,  Medical and Student Services, which will be frequently used by students once the academic activities start. Furthermore, Students will be introduced to many other extra curricular activities available at SLIIT via the introduction of Clubs and Societies of SLIIT.

Participation for the orientation program is mandatory for registered students and the institute will request the students to sit for relevant orientation examinations as required. 

The program content is based on the SLIIT's and Ministry of Higher Education stipulated guidelines. 

The current orientation program is delivered with the following subjects

  • Communication Skills
  • Fundamentals of Mathematics
  • Computational Thinking and 21st Century Skills

Business School students who have not followed A/L Commerce stream are required to follow the Bridging program + orientation program as required by the Ministry and their subjects will include. 

  • Communication Skills
  • General Business Knowledge
  • Principles of Accounting
  • Principles of Economics

Relevant orientation program details and the timetables will be shared with the registered students on due course by the SLIIT.
