Credit Conversions to to European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)

Students are kindly advised to refer to the guidelines published by the Quality Assurance Council of the UGC as given below for guidance on credit conversions.

As an example it can be said that

• SLQF defines 1 credit as 50 notional hours.

• In ECTS 1 credit is 25 - 30 hours.

• If an ECTS 1 Credit is considered as 25 hours, then 1 SLQF based credit is equivalent to 2 credits in ECTS.

• Similarly UK credit system has 10 hours for 1 credit.

• Then 1 credit in SLQF is 5 UK credits and approx. 2 ECTS
