Students are kindly advised to refer to the guidelines published by the Quality Assurance Council of the UGC as given below for guidance on credit conversions.

https://www.eugc.ac.lk/qac/slqf-add-faq.html#:~:text=Based%20on%20the%20information%20given,credits%20and%205%20UK%20credits.

As an example it can be said that

  • SLQF defines 1 credit as 50 notional hours.

  • In ECTS 1 credit is 25 - 30 hours.

  • If an ECTS 1 Credit is considered as 25 hours, then 1 SLQF based credit is equivalent to 2 credits in ECTS.

  • Similarly UK credit system has 10 hours for 1 credit.

  • Then 1 credit in SLQF is 5 UK credits and approx. 2 ECTS
